2011 Foals

So far we have the following foals born:

Welsh D's

Floreat Rolling Stone & Vinians Calon
Floreat Rolling Stone -buckskin D colt by Floreat Dandelion ex Vinians Calon, full brother and carbon copy of F. Heart of Stone who was awarded 1st Premium at the BEF Futurity last year, see below.  Another stunner like his brother. FOR SALE

Floreat Rainbow - chestnut D filly by Floreat Dandelion ex Broughton Saffron. A lovely big rangy filly who will make a super mare for me.

Welsh A's

Floreat Moonstone - grey A colt by Flydon Henadur ex Seaview Jewel, only A this year. This is a cracker, a show colt in the making.  FOR SALE

One more to go, D by Floreat Dandelion ex Marchell Perpetual Motion. Colts for sale at weaning, the filly is going nowhere!

Floreat Bourbon Creme does PC Games!

A new activity for a Floreat pony - Biscuit was part of her owner's PC Mounted Games team who recently won their Area competition, thus qualifying for the Zone finals in July, so good luck to them there. I do love seeing people having fun with ponies I've bred!

Floreat Quintessa BHF overall Champion!

Having been qualified for the 2010 final by Katherine last year, Floreat Quintessa went to the rescheduled Final early this year and ended up Supreme Champion, much to all our delight.

Katherine now has Floreat Creme de Cassis on loan to her as well, and with her team of riders Fynn and Katie is enjoying showing them in FR and Opens in various combinations of pony and rider, with the intention to add WH when they are ready.

Stan at BEF Futurity - First Premium!

We took the yearling D colt Stan (Floreat Heart of Stone, by Floreat Dandelion) to the BEF Futurity grading in the "potential dressage pony" category. It was the first time we have done this type of event and we were really impressed with the organisation of the day and the feedback provided.

Lexy turned Stan into a smartly turned out plaited and trimmed sports pony and dressed up in white so they both looked the part.

There are 3 stages to the grading, first the vetting section where he was awarded 8.8/10 and received many compliments from the vet. And then they are shown on a triangle in walk & trot in front of the judges. And finally they are then turned loose to be able to also see all paces including canter loose.

He was awarded a First Premium grading, with an average score of 8.36 (out of 10). This is the second grading, only below Elite which is very rarely achieved, so we were extremely pleased. And even more so when we later found out that he was the Reserve high score in his section (Dressage yearling) across all ponies and horses in the day.

Equifest 2010

Floreat Yaffle (Sec A gelding) went to Equifest as his second ever ridden show after his 'debut' at Cranleigh recently. He took part in lead rein, first ridden and finally Concours d'Elegance (pictured left). He was an absolute saint in all his classes and finished off the weekend winning the Conours d'Elegance class.

Also at Equifest was Floreat Creme Chantilly (produced by Leisl Burt) who was 2nd in the Welsh A 2/3yr old class. She is a 3yr old filly by Flydon Henadur ex Forlan Welsh Cream.

Floreat Quintessa at Chertsey Show

Floreat Quintessa was 1st & M&M Ridden Champion at the recent Chertsey Show.

She is produced and ridden by Katherine McGrail who is doing a great job with her. She was only broken on earlier this year and has been brought on slowly.

She has also started jumping at home and is showing a real talent for it.

Floreat Creme de Cassis at NPS Champs

Cassi had a great couple of days at the NPS Champs this year coming 3rd in Novice Junior M&M Ridden on first day, and 3rd in Picton Finals today.

The Junior ridden class had the top 10 through to the evening performance and she performed really well.  Unfortunately just missing out today on going through again to evening performance by one position!

Many thanks and congrats to all the team involved in all their efforts at the show - Penny, Catherine, Jack, Katherine etc!

Floreat Yaffle - Cranleigh Show

Floreat Yaffle (photo by Lexy Page)
Floreat Yaffle was sold as a 3yr old to a local family. He went to his first show under saddle today at Craneligh Show and competed in two lead rein classes. He was beautifully behaved and ended up 2nd in Lead Rein pony and 4th in PUK M&M lead rein pony in two very strong classes. An excellent start to his ridden showing career!

Many congrats to his owner Caroline Winser and the super little jockey Lucy.

We wish them both Good Luck at Equifest.

Kent County

Floreat Creme Chantilly (3yr old A filly) went to Kent County and was placed 3rd in a strong class.

SEWPCA Summer Show

We took 2 of the youngsters to SEWPCA show:
* Floreat Heart of Stone (Sec D yearling colt)
* Floreat Creme Chantilly (Sec A 3yr old filly).

It was Heart of Stone's first ever show and he was a little shell shocked! But was very well behaved and finished 3rd in his class.
